This course provides instruction on how to do advanced, in-depth reporting and news writing involving a variety of information gathering and research methods. Students learn about primary and secondary sources of information, including documents, databases, interviews, and observation. Detailed research using computer assisted reporting techniques is explored. The course emphasizes both practical and theoretical approaches to doing investigative reports.
